The Color Purple

I saw a beautiful sight today while going to my local green market to get oranges for juice.

In a field of wild flowers next to the market were three women of color in full authentic african dress. Their wraps were being whipped around by the wind. What a glorious sight.

It was that moment at the end of The Color Purple when Nettie comes home.

I needed to see something that beautiful today.

I just love random moments such as you have described.

It reminds me of that scene in "American Beauty" where Ricky finds beauty in something as simple as a bag blowing in the wind.

Just lovely.

We were at the airport last week, waiting for a plane to come in, and my son noticed a piece of purple celophane blowing around in a circle of trash and leaves.

"Look, Mom! A magic carpet!" Utterly entranced. By garbage.

It's all in the perspective.

P.S. Consider yourself adopted. That'd make you Poppa Red.

I happened to catch that ending scene of The Color Purple just a few weeks ago. I was instantly in tears...just like every time I see it.

Beautiful visual RQM, I will be savoring it the rest of the day with you.

Take care,
Sublime
